Why Kanamycin EvoPure®?
Kanamycin is used in molecular biology as a selective agent most commonly to isolate
bacteria which have taken up genes coupled to a gene coding for kanamycin resistance
(primarily Neomycin phosphotransferase II [NPT II/Neo]). Typical commercial-grade
purities of Kanamycin range between 93-98% (mixture of Kanamycins A, B, C). EvoPure®
Kanamycin contains over 99.5% Kanamycin A (least toxic and most potent of the three
Kanamycins A, B, C), which leads to faster transfections and selections of bacteria and
cells.
